I had always identified as a chronic empath, a hard worker, with a touch of perfectionism. In 2017 I hit rock bottom due to years of poorly managed stress/anxiety and ended up being diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, chronic insomnia and hypertension all in one year. I had spent years focusing primarily on only one out of the seven aspects of wellness as a rehabilitation professional, physical wellness. I do truly believe physical wellness is important. I also believe that other aspects of wellness need to be incorporated in order to truly heal versus treating symptoms and conditions as they arise. Using a mind-body approach allows the individual to unleash their best thinking, establish clarity and resolve in this chaotic world, and be the best version of themselves to themselves and to others. After completing my master’s program in occupational therapy, I was able to fulfill my passion for helping others in my career — it didn’t take long to find myself in a predominantly thankless job with obscenely high productivity standards working for companies with core values that were not aligned with my own. This is was a driving force to further fuel my passion for helping others by incorporating more aspects of wellness, emotional regulation and deep mindset work in starting my own business. I completed American Fitness Professionals & Associates’ health and wellness coaching certification program to become a certified health and wellness coach with additional courses in mindset and stress management, life coaching and cognitive behavioral coaching. My personal experiences through mindset work in therapy and coaching, blending of eastern and western practices & extensive trial and error got me to this point with powerfully harnessed mindset + stress management strategies. Now it is my mission to empower women going through similar struggles (or those on the other side of the struggle wanting to maintain or level up) so that they feel uniquely supported, taking into account every factor of their whole being, life and schedule/demands. In 2023, I was re-energized through being an multifaceted helping professional and went on to start my private OT business locally, Embodied OT, LLC. My education through my master’s program in occupational therapy, bachelor’s program in psychology & human development, and all of the clinical and business skills I have acquired over the years has given me a competitive edge. I am able to bring a level of expertise to my coaching client sessions that I otherwise would not have had without all of the experiences through my studies and in the field. I have continued to work primarily with adult and geriatric populations treating a multitude of conditions. However, it has been a challenging road to navigate working for third party companies in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation and home health settings. I have often found myself in a predominantly thankless job with high productivity standards working for companies with core values that were not always aligned with my own. This is what led me to further fuel my passion for helping others by incorporating more aspects of wellness by starting my own business. I created EmbodyYou, LLC, initially with a heavy mental health focus. I slowly transitioned into a more focused area of mental health restoration as a mindset & stress management coach. Mostly because of my own battles with chronic stress and anxiety over the years, now with powerfully harnessed skills that I want to share with others that are having similar struggles that I once had. After starting EmbodyYou, LLC, I have been re-energized as a helping professional.
